INSPIRATION Nikolaj Kunsthal Min stol tager ikke afsæt i enkelte arkitekturdetaljer eller materialer, men i bygningens omskiftelige kulturbærende historie – fra en af de tre ældste københavnske kirker til fyrtårn og vægtertårn, fra et forsøg på igen at blive til kirke til at huse orlogsmuseum og bibliotek og endelig til en kunsthal med mangfoldige funktioner – fra udstillinger til koncerter, fra undervisning til festmåltider. Som selve bygningen skulle stolen være multifunktionel og bære kulturarven, men også pege fremad. / My chair is not rooted in specific architectural details or materials, but in the building’s changing role throughout history – from one of the three oldest churches of Copenhagen to lighthouse and watchtower, from a renewed attempt at becoming a church to maritime museum and library. Finally, it became an art centre hosting contemporary art exhibitions, concerts, performances, training courses and dinner events. As the building itself, my chair had to be multifunctional, preserve cultural heritage and point to the future.
