The Radio House is one of the most beautiful examples of a Gesamtkunstwerk, a total work of art, in Copenhagen. Lauritzen’s architecture often uses wave forms, and the Radio House concert hall is shaped like a single, curved shell, which is also reminiscent of a wave. As I have used the wave form in several of my earlier furniture designs, this place was an obvious source of inspiration for my design expression. This wave form forms three high and three low seats. The piece is intended for a short break but also serves as a sculpture that echoes the wave form of the building.
